We have a wonderful High School and Middle School Student Ministry and I would love to tell you a little bit about what we do, or better yet, who we are. Firstly, students from numerous schools throughout Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, Lake Oswego and Portland area are found in our group. Chances are your school is probably already represented.
Our Youth Ministry’s identity can be summed up in our “3 B’s.” The first is Belong. Our hope is that every student finds that St. Matthew is a safe place to belong. It is a community that they want to be in and invite others to. The second is Believe. We provide different ways for students to learn to trust in Jesus and grow in their faith. The last is Become. We want transformation happens. Everything we do should be leading us to becoming more like Jesus.
Our High Schoolers have a Sunday Morning Gathering at 9:45 or they are serving in our children’s ministry. We have a youth group type experience on most Sundays at 6:00PM (except during the summer). Dinner is included!
Our Middle Schoolers are on a rotation schedule on Sunday mornings at 9:45. We have wonderful adults who lead their small groups or teach Bible lessons. Also, a part of our schedule includes our Catechism classes who are taught by our pastors.
We had a wonderful mission experience to the Dominican Republic this summer. Would you like to see our week?
